Middle class families in the First Congressional District and across our state are at a crossroads.

Five years after Wall Street drove our economy into a ditch, too many people remain out of work. School budgets continue to get slashed and rising tuition costs are putting college out of reach for too many Washingtonians.

I strongly believe that the decisions that Congress makes today will determine whether or not future generations have the opportunities to succeed.

Unfortunately, Congress is failing us. Partisanship and the influence of highly paid lobbyists are at an all time high in our nation's capital.

Extreme members of Congress continue to defend tax breaks for the wealthy and big corporations. They stand with Wall Street over Main Street. They are determined to gut Social Security, Medicare and balance the budget on the backs of the middle class. Their goal is to divide us by distracting people from the issues that matter. I will focus on solutions.

I'm running for Congress because I know we can do better. We need to put the needs of our citizens first. I've spent my life creating jobs and building businesses both small and large. My number one priority is to get our economy back on track and build a bright future for our children.

In Congress, I'll be a voice for the 1st district. But I can't do it without your help. I need your ideas and input because this campaign is about you, and the future we must build together.
